The Lead Programmer Analyst will define, develop, test, analyze and maintain new software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing and analyzing software programs and applications. The Lead Programmer Analyst will also research, design, document and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. Incumbent will assist other Programmer Analysts on large and complex projects.

Other duties/responsibilities include the following:
- Estimate staff and time required to complete programming assignments
- Review and evaluate daily/weekly/monthly job schedules and performance
- Designing, developing and modifying of in-house developed application programs both interactive and batch
- Debugging problems in application programs both on and off hours
- Documenting all programming code and report production procedures
- Assisting/advising individual users in identifying and solving technical problems
- General system problem solving
- Follow up with users following and during system implementation
- Providing information to users and other members of IT staff as needed for projects
- Learn new programming languages and techniques
- Support vendor purchased applications and provide customization where needed
- Support SQL Server databases, including creating databases with tables and views
- Create and maintain Web Services to transmit and receive data from SUNYDMC
- Support the Budget application, including upgrades and write reports using ERP system
- Serve as point of contact for Budget application
- Work with .net, VB and other competency tools to develop more reporting systems


All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization. Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree required in M.I.S or Computer Science
- 4-6 years of programming and development experience is required
- Programming proficiency in SQL Plus, Visual Basic, ASP .net
- Knowledge of Access, Excel, Project Management software and Crystal Reports is a plus
- Expertise in SQL, TSQL and Oracle knowledge is essential
- Expertise in Report design and data management using industry standard tools is required
- Experience with SAP, Tableau, Lawson and Allscripts EMS is a plus
- In depth understanding of data warehouse, building and supporting knowledge is desirable.
